Who is that dog on the truck?

Mijo hailed from Bear Creek, North Carolina, but his journey eventually led him to Northern Virginia, where he made his home with the owner of Home Service Pros. His professional career began in 2014, when he became an essential part of the owner’s previous company—overseeing operations in his own special way and spreading joy to everyone he encountered. He remained a beloved fixture until the business was sold in 2020.

Following the sale, Mijo entered a brief retirement, enjoying time on the water boating and continuing his lifelong mission of bringing happiness to those around him. Even in retirement, his presence had a way of lifting spirits and making people smile.

After 18 months, Mijo decided retirement wasn’t for him. He proudly returned to work as the official mascot of Home Service Pros and Quality Sewer and Drain. His unwavering loyalty, joyful spirit, and commitment to always being his best became the foundation and heart of the company.

Though Mijo earned a respectable salary, he chose to donate every penny to nonprofit rescue organizations, helping less fortunate dogs in need. While he had a special fondness for fellow Chihuahuas, Mijo believed all dogs deserved love and support—especially his larger, clumsier furry friends. His generosity extended beyond personal preference and reflected his deep compassion for all.

At just 8½ years old, Mijo was unexpectedly diagnosed with Type 1 diabetes, a condition that had already caused significant damage to his pancreas. He was admitted to a veterinary intensive care unit, where he bravely fought for three days before returning home on twice-daily insulin and a new, carefully managed diet. After several days, it became heartbreakingly clear that the damage to his pancreas was too severe, and Mijo peacefully crossed over the Rainbow Bridge, surrounded by love.

While Mijo is no longer with us physically, his spirit remains very much alive within Home Service Pros and Quality Sewer and Drain. He will forever be our mascot and a symbol of joy, loyalty, and compassion.

In his honor, we hope to establish a fund in the future to help families facing similar medical challenges with their pets. The company is committed to directly donating to this effort, continuing Mijo’s legacy of giving, kindness, and care for others.

Mijo wasn’t just a mascot—he was family. And his legacy will live on in everything we do.
